Basia + Leonard Myszynski - A dynamic husband + wife filmmaking duo

Basia received her BA in Drama from the University of California, Irvine while pursuing her passions for theatre and the arts. An MFA in Film Directing from the prestigious Polish National Film Academy soon followed, where she met Leonard, the cinematographer who would become her filmmaking partner and more. As an effective writer, investigative researcher and communicator, Basia interweaves high caliber expert interviews with potent human stories and seamless direction to build on her core message, intergenerational themes and critical social issues. “Documentaries have given us enormous opportunities to explore the unexplored, discovering new voices and communities beyond our own, while uncovering deeper truths about ourselves.”

Leonard, the visual artist and idea man, focuses on design, style and symbolic juxtapositions to reach new dimensions in storytelling technique. His European sensibility, infinite resourcefulness and boundless imagination propel his photography and advertising campaigns. Inspired by their films, Leonard's stylized and provocative imagery has showcased in galleries, airport public spaces and APA exhibitions throughout the U.S. His fine art images of a Jewish cemetery remain in permanent collection at The Magnes Collection of Jewish Art and Life (Berkeley CA). ”Second impressions provoke me. I am interested in what lies beneath the surface and then I begin searching for the ideal form.”

sOlar eye has produced projects in overlapping sectors, including entertainment, corporate and healthcare. John Farrar Making Music and Olivia Newton-John in Benefit Concert for patrons of the arts, Grammy-nominated DVD content for Walt Disney Records and projects for Fox Searchlight Pictures. The team's nationally broadcast PBS documentaries continue to screen across the globe from Australia to Asia, from Europe to New Zealand and Canada.
The aim is to create educational, enlightening and entertaining cinematic stories that appeal to inclusive audiences for multi-platform distribution.
