Born between 1980 and 1995, the millennial generation is not a typical group. Yet it’s a group to be reckoned with. Future CEO’s or heads of NGO’s? Money makers or world savers? Geeks, cool kids or a class of its own? A photographic cross section of Newport Harbor High School students and recent grads reveals the many faces of modern day Orange County millennials. Do they live sheltered and over-structured lives? Perhaps. Yet, this group wants desperately to stand together protected by the harbor.…They must remain anchored, but will they survive in a world of transition and global conflicts?
My favorite is the social time right before school starts. That’s when I notice different styles and outfits. My dream is to be a fashion journalist. I actually think of myself as a nerd and a bit quirky because I’m loud, feel open to be myself. I guess I just want to be a mom. - ADDI

It’s great to be Top Dog. Being out in the water is the sickest. It’s one of the only sports where you’re dependent on nature and have to understand how it works, like the rip currents, the waves, the weather. - SHELBY

I like solving puzzles. My dream is to work as a programmer for Google. But the ultimate profession: being a video game designer. My grandfather was a UCB grad who was part of the design team that invented the first UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles). - RYAN
